special packages...

I just love getting special packages in the mail.
Today I recieved this lovely Crazy Stripes Patchwork Wristlet that I won in the first ever givaway from Lolo's blog.
It is so fun and very well made, and came wrapped up like a present!
You should check out Lolo's etsy shops here and here to see some of her other great creations!  She makes beautiful bags, jewelry and more.
Thanks Lolo!  I love it!
(p.s. Lolo is the creator of the Te Amo Heart on my wishlist that I posted about here.)

I hope you all had a day full of fun surprises too!

back in business...

the move was a success!

we couldn't be happier with our new home, and have made huge amounts of progress in getting it set up.  no decorating yet, but most rooms at least have furniture placed.

tonight we started setting up the office/studio.  i took some before pictures and as soon as we are finished, i will take some afters and post the results.  i'm thrilled with the amount of storage and space that i'll have to create things!  i can't wait to get back to it.
speaking of creating things, the shop is back up and running
{now that i can locate all my items}.

i am also so excited to get back to blogging.  i have lots of reading to do to get caught up on my favorites, and am excited to get back to sharing with you all!  i've missed you!

tonight i leave you with this {not so fabulous} picture of a strange occurrence that we witnessed during the move.  one of the last nights we were in the old house, i found what appeared to be two kitty paw prints pressed into the carpet.  now, this carpet was not plush enough for this to happen just from the cats standing on it, and it was right in the middle of the floor where no furniture had ever sat.
not sure what left these marks, but i just thought it was so strange....any ideas?

It's go time...

tomorrow is moving day!
we are loading the last of our things into the POD and trailers,
so it is time to unhook the computer.  So strange how we've become so dependent on the internet, and how scary it is to unhook yourself!
this will be my last post until we're set up in the new house.
{hopefully by friday afternoon}
please wish us luck, and smooth sailing!
have a beautiful day.

happy mother's day...

My mom's pretty special:
She has naturally curly hair.  {and she gave it to me}
She makes the best flower arrangements.
She decorates a house like nobody's business.
Animals love her, and she loves them.
She has two birthdays.  {someday I'll explain}
She's a great shopping buddy.
She has the greenest thumb I've ever seen.  Seriously, her garden is amazing, and she knows the names of all the flowers and plants.
She can carry on a conversation for hours.
And, well, she's my mom!

Thanks Mom.  For being so special, for being you!
I love you, and happy mother's day!

my wish list...

When birthdays and Christmases roll around I can never think of anything I want.  I do come across things throughout the year that I wish I owned, but since I'm a saver, and not a spender, I usually let them pass me by.  Today {being inspired by some lovely things I discovered online} I decided I would start a wish list and post it right here on the blog  so that the next time I'm asked what I would like, I'll have a nice little record of lovelies that I'd be so excited to receive! You all can take a look.  Maybe there will be something that will make it on your wish list too!
My wish list will live at the bottom of my right sidebar, and has links to the items--------------->

To start off the list I have added a Giant Cupcake Cake Pan and a Giant Sandwich Cookie Cake Pan found via this post on The Small Object blog.  The blog's author, Sarah Neuburger, makes the most darling cake toppers and has posted some pics of them in action.  One of which was atop a giant cupcake!  I mean, how could it get any more awesome than that!

I have also added the Te Amo Heart by Chapulin.  Lolo blogged about it today, and I instantly fell in love!  Her shop has lots of wonderful things, you should check it out!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

16 days...

As we get closer to the move, I find myself getting more and more nervous and excited.  Mostly excited I guess.  There seems to be so much left to do.  I know it's simple really,  just pack up all our stuff, right?  Well, for a young couple we seem to have an extraordinary amount of stuff.  I guess that's what happens when an artist marries a handyman.  We both have stockpiles of things we might be able to use someday.  I just hope it all fits in the new house!

I made a couple of mother's day cards last night {I would picture them here, but I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise if the moms stop by for a read} so I think I'm ready to pack up the art supplies.  It seems so scary not having my things at my fingertips, but I know I will not have time to be crafting before the move.  They might as well be tucked in a box ready to go.

Since I cannot stand having a post without a picture, I thought I'd share this one from Jasmine's lovely little blog An Experiment in Poverty.  She wrote today about this macaron shop in Beverly Hills, Paulette.  It seems I have been seeing/hearing about macarons everywhere lately, and I'm sad to say I've never had one!  I'm dying to try what looks to be a scrumptious little treat.  They look so yummy, and I just love how colorful they are!

Anyone know a good macaron shop in Kansas City?
