Ravencrest Cemetery...

Jon and I went for a walk last night on the new trail by our house.  It was a beautiful fall evening, and it was so nice to just walk and talk with my sweetie.  {Just checked "crunch through leaves off my list!}
I'm always amazed at how awesome the trail system is here.  It's so accessable, but hidden at the same time.  Love it.

We came to a cross street and looked over to see this...
There was a big banner that read www.ravencrestcemetery.com

The picture I took certainly doesn't do it justice, but there are some awesome pictures on their site, as well as some tutorials on making some of the props and ideas for Halloween parties.  I highly suggest you check it out!  If you're in the area, they welcome visitors on Halloween night.  You can find directions on their site.  Hopefully we can make it by to see what it's all about.

Do you, or do any of your neighbors get this into Halloween?

I like Halloween, but can't see myself ever constructing this many props for it.  I think it's great when people use creativity and artistic talent to share something really fun with their communities, just because they love it.

  1. OH, When I lived in a diffrent place and my oldest children were young, we went all out for Halloween. Foam rubber toimbstones (before they sold the plastic ones) I would cut out names from the foam cushions and then use black spray paint. We had chopped off heads, hands, arms everywhere! Dry ice being blown by a fan. LOL It was fun!

    Have a great day!

  2. We have a neighbour who gets so into Christmas they turn their entire garage into a lit up display... but no one who gets that into Halloween.

  3. I tried to grow Jack-o-lanterns in my garden this year, but I only got one. I think I over fertilized. Sigh. Now I'm afraid to carve it because (Now this is silly because I'm a professional artist, and not that I'm perfect but this is one fear I should be over by now) -- I'm afraid I'll screw it up. Meh. So there it sits my one pumpkin that I grew, on top of the fridge. AWESOME picture by the way. Makes me want to go walking too.

  4. Since last year, all Aubrey has talked about is making a commercial Haunted House. I will have to go over and take a look - the irony of all of that is that we never get around to carving our pumpkin every year...and even though we dress up - we never decide till Halloween day what we are going to be. He will be out of state this year though.
