Happy Friday!
I was hoping you could help me figure out some burning questions that I have! Would you mind weighing in on the following?
1. Have you ever had your smoke detectors go off randomly?
Our upstairs detectors were going off every few minutes last night. Not just beeping, but sounding! They'd sound about 3-4 times, then stop for a few minutes, then it would happen again. Of course, we checked the whole house and were certain there was no fire, but it was still quite unnerving! I was worried for a bit that they might be carbon monoxideWe changed the batteries in the ones that were sounding. I think I'll go buy all new batteries this weekend and change 'em all again, just in case the ones we used last night were no good. Besides, we're due for that anyway.
Any idea what's causing this?
2. Have you tried the OFF! Clip-on Mosquito Repellent?
I have really bad reactions to bug bites. {like giant mounds of red itchiness that lasts for a week} I hate using bug spray all the time. The chemicals can't be good, right? So, naturally I was drawn to the idea of this product, but wasn't sure if it would really work. Mosquitos are so drawn to me. I mean, we're talking I'll have 10 bites within minutes an everyone around me will have nothing!
If you haven't tried this, but have a great suggestion of something else, do share!
3. Anyone know how to make a perfect mojito?
I'm thinking after this week, I'm going to relax with a drink on my patio! I tried making some last weekend, but they just didn't seem as delicious as I remember. Or, if you have another great summer cocktail, I'd love to try something new! I'm usually a gin and tonic girl, but I'm craving variety!

Thanks in advance for your help! I'm excited to hear what you guys have to say! {especially on that last one!}
I hope you all have fabulous plans for the weekend. Ours will consist of a little of this, and a little of that. Nothing to regimented, just how I like it!

i just got one of those off fans...haven't had to use it yet, so i'm not help there...
ReplyDeletemmmmm, mojitos! reminds me of your bachelorette party {even though mine was virgin}...no clue how to make them...no help there either...
just love you girl!
Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for any of these questions!
ReplyDeleteBut I do have a response to the comment you left on
this post.
I see the most beautiful tousled mane framing a perfectly-shaped face. I see crystal-clear eyes that shine with devotion to deity. I see stunning, high cheek-bones. "Far and Away" has to be one of my all-time-favorite movies because of the natural beauty in Nicole Kidman, a beauty that she and you share. Oh my goodness, the more I look, the more I am stricken by your loveliness! I see smooth skin and rosy cheeks. Oh heaven, there is one picture of a smirk/smile that is exactly Juliet from "Lost". I see an obviously charming girl. You are so beautiful inside and out. Never doubt it!
Much love,
Megan Marie
I'm not much help as I've never had smoke detectors go off randomly, have not use the off thingies, nor do I know how to make a good mojito, I only know how to drink them! Sorry. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't know about the smoke detectors or the mosquito things, but for the mojito! I think good mojitos I've had have been rimmed with a course sugar/salt combo. I've also once had a mojito with sweet basil in it and that was delicious! I don't think you can screw up a mojito.
ReplyDeleteOur smoke detectors only do small beeps when the batteries are low, so not sure what that would be. I am never outside when the nasty biters are out because I also get huge welts when I get bit. I stay in. We looked at them last weekend for Irv because he is always outside and chewed up in the garden. I thought it would be better than chemicals on the skin. He wouldn't buy one because he said it was too expensive, didn't last long enough and the refills were expensive too. Not sure if they work. Can't help you on the drink...buy the commercials are great! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it was probably just the battery. A good rule of thumb is to remember to change the batteries when you change your clocks (twice a year!) I am a fireman's wife after all LOL
ReplyDeleteI had that happen to my smoke detecors before in the middle of the night. After about the 3rd time I took the batteries out, and replace them. It never happened after that =) The Mojito looks Delish!
ReplyDeleteFunny you should ask this,,I just found this blog..and they do look good..

I have had smoke detectors go off randomly also in the past, it usually means the battery is low or just about dead. Have they gone off again since you changed the batteries? If not, and it happens again in the middle of the night, you may just want to remove all the batteries (so you can sleep) and replace them right away the next day.
ReplyDeleteMojitos! I love them, just had an amazing one here last weekend when we went out to a Mexican place. A good site to check out for tons of drink recipes is webtender.com, you should be able to find a good recipe on there...
1. Can't say that I have.
ReplyDelete2. I don't use such poison on or near my body. Ever.
3. Ahh ... I get some mint from my garden, strip a small handful of leaves, place them in a glass with a bar-spoon of sugar, a couple lime wedges and muddle to my heart's content. Then add ice to fill the glass, a shot-r-two of light rum and fill with club soda. Follow your intuition in the moment - it will serve you the perfect mojito. Slainte!
