I felt more like myself this weekend than I have in a very long time. In fact, I'm sort of shocked at how productive I was. It's not like I did anything super amazing, but it was just so much more than I've done in so long!
I officially have nursery fabric on order! Hooray! If you follow me on Pinterest, I'm sorry. I've been flooding the stream with fabric possibilities, and I can assure you, it's over. Fabrics are ordered! Now we can pick out the perfect grey for the walls, and project nursery can begin! Eeeeeeee! I'm so excited!
I also made giant headway on etsy orders....I've desperately wanted to get caught up so that I can be free to think about other things, and so my customers don't think I'm a total slacker. It sucks when you constantly feel like you're behind, you know? Well, I feel pretty great about the shop heading into this week. Now I can jump on orders as soon as they come in instead of waiting until they're almost late. {If you've found me to be slow lately, I am sorry. I've been doing the best I can!}
Speaking of the shop, I will be closing up {temporarily} at the end of summer so that I can prepare for Baby D, and enjoy some down time before our life changes forever. So, if you're looking to make a purchase for the holidays, or in general before, say February{?} don't delay! I'm anticipating closing up around Labor Day and the grand re-open date will just depend on how things go with being a new mom. I know I'll be soaking up that babe for a while, so it will be at least early next year.
This is all very bittersweet to me. There was one point during my first trimester that I thought surely I'd have to close up by July 1st. I didn't see how I could keep up. But, now that I'm feeling better, I'm enjoying my little business again. I do know, however, that I'll need those couple months to prepare, and to nest, and to soak up all the alone time we can stand as just the two of us. It will be sad to close up shop, though, even though it's temporary. When I started this little business, I had no idea how it would grow. It's going to feel very strange not painting a ton of gifts for Christmas, although I'm sure I'll be thinking of other things this year. There is no way I could do it with a newborn!
So tell me, what was your weekend like? Productive? Lazy? Something in-between? What did you do?
Ooh I don't follow you on Pinterest, but now I really want to see these fabrics you mentioned. So that's my next stop.

I think it's smart of you to close your shop. Imagine how crazy it would be to keep working with a tiny little person around all the time!

Sounds like you have a plan! I had some family visiting this weekend, so I was completely unproductive on the shop front.
