Friends...

I've been thinking alot lately about God's plan, and God's timing.  As hard as it is to trust in sometimes, it's so amazing to watch it unfold.

It doesn't seem that long ago that Jon and I sat and talked about how we longed for friendships.  There was a time when we felt pretty alone.  I guess that's one of the things cancer will do to you.  If your friendships aren't strong, they won't survive.  We always had our family, and a handful of close friends, but we watched so many people fall out of our lives during that time.

Over time, things have changed dramatically.  It's not something one can even necessarily see while its happening, but one day we woke up and God has blessed us with such wonderful people.  Friends.  People we can count on, and who we love tremendously and would do anything for.  {and now the pregnant lady is crying.}

I'm so glad we had these friends during the last few years. They've been a source of strength when times have been tough, and I know they've all offered up countless prayers on our behalf.  They've helped us get to where we are today.

Sometimes now, I'm overwhelmed with how God has blessed us.  Beyond measure.

I also used to fear that everyone else would be done having babies, and then if we were lucky maybe we'd get one too, but ours would be the little baby and not really included in what the kids were doing.  Well, again, God's timing is pretty impeccable.  I have no less than 3 girlfriends who are all expecting right now!  One is due 10 days before me.  Unbelievable, right?  You have no idea how my heart soars when I think about the days to come.  The play dates, the parties, and the inevitable friendships that will grow with these little ones....more friendships....just like we asked.

Are there ways you've seen God at work in your life?  Do share!

  1. This is a great post in honor of friendship! I love it! That is some pretty amazing timing for more babies to come, isn't it? Blessings can be seen in even the tiniest things. =)

  3. It's beautiful that you can share so openly about your life and that gratefulness underlies all your experiences and the true friendships you have made along your journey. Everything happens for a reason and when it's meant to, almost at the 'right' time. I wish you well in all that you do and on your journeys xx
