Yesterday marked 15 weeks into this pregnancy. {which is crazy!....in some ways it feels like it's going so slow....in other ways I can't believe it's going so fast. The weeks really are flying by.}
Since I've been a total slacker up until this point, this bumpdate will recap essentially the entire first trimester. Better late than never, right?
How Far Along: 15 weeks
How am I feeling?: A whole lot better! I really can't complain, as I know I had it pretty easy when it comes to first trimester symptoms. I had a lot of nausea from about week 6-8, but it gradually got better from there. I've only thrown up 4 times...and three of those are "special"...see Other Crazy Symptoms. Mostly I just wanted to sleep all day every day. I've always been a big fan of sleep, but I would literally pass out many nights/days/afternoons/evenings/mornings and wake up in a stupor like I've never known before.
Lately, I'm feeling much more energetic! Although it does catch up to me every once in a while....like this weekend. Naps are good!
Total Weight Gain: I'm trying not to think about that. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous at my last appointment that I'd get "in trouble" for my weight, but my doctor, sweet woman that she is, didn't even mention it. I'm going with the theory that no news is good news. :)
Maternity Clothes: Oh yes! I've been sporting some fabulous hand-me-down maternity wear since week 12. I've been staying away from the obvious billowy tops. Mostly tees and tanks, but yes, maternity jeans are the best thing ever! I was super self conscious at first, cause I did break them out early, but comfort is a pretty big deal to me. I'm pretty sure my next purchase needs to be some maternity shorts/jammies. Getting a little uncomfortable at night.
Gender: We're not finding out! It will be the be the biggest, best surprise of our lives when Baby D enters this world, and we're gonna savor it. That being said, I'm leaning toward girl, as I've had 3 dreams with baby girls. Jon is sure it's a boy. He just "has a feeling". I guess we'll see who's right in November!
Movement: As crazy as it sounds, I felt Baby D at 11 weeks, 5 days. {doctor confirmed, for you doubters} I just happened to be in the right position at the right time! It was amazing, and I can't wait to feel it again!
Sleep: Eh. I've been having alot of lower back pain. It's no longer super comfortable to sleep on my stomach, which is where I naturally migrate. I've found a pillow between/below my knees help. Oh, and yes, I get up to pee AT LEAST 3 times a night. Fun!
Cravings: Early on, it was refried beans....yeah, I know.
Lately it's been baked potato soup and watermelon.
Food Aversions: Early on, meat in general. {thus, I'm guessing, the refried beans...gotta get that protein somewhere!}
Once I hit about 10 weeks, refried beans. blech.
Lately it's been veggies, especially salads! Which, is so sad, cause I LOVE salads. They are not sitting well with me though. Not at all.
Other crazy symptoms: I have thrown up 3 times in the morning from brushing my teeth. I just start gagging and cannot contain it. Luckily, there's nothing in my stomach in the morning, so it's relatively short lived and minimally disgusting.
Also, I may or may not be a little emotional....., irritable, sentimental, angry, generally annoyed....you name it. I ugly cried to "I hope you dance" on pandora while washing dishes the other day.
What I am looking forward to: Just within the last week or so, I think it's started sinking in that we're having a baby! I already love this little one so much! I'm really looking forward to getting some fabric picked out and starting on the nursery!
Best Moment this week: Mother's Day. Finally being part of the club. :)
So, what do you guys think – pink or blue???

girl...no boy....no girl......no boy.....ugh! ha!
