A pretty bicycle picture and random thoughts from the week....

         image by Ken Stutsman (my dad) altered in Photoshop by me!

Apparently cilantro tastes like soap to some people.  That's crazy!  I love cilantro.  How about you?  {Thanks to Elisa for cluing me into this phenomena!}

I love how many blog post ideas have come to me this week.  I couldn't post them all at once, but they're in the queue.

On Wednesday morning, I made some yummy banana and blackberry oatmeal.  I put a few generous shakes of cinnamon in it, only to realize it was not cinnamon at all...it was cumin.

Later that same morning, I stepped out of my friend's van, and whacked my head on the door.  The door didn't swing into me, I didn't slip, I just all out rammed my noggin' into the door.  I'm graceful like that.

Best video from the week found on Etsy's blog:

The Move, Paper Animation from Mandy Smith on Vimeo.

I'm seriously obsessed with prize ribbons. I can't stop thinking about them.  I guess that's why they call it an obsession.

Can you believe it's Friday again?  This week kinda flew by!

This weekend I'll be working on some custom piggy banks...oh gosh, they're cute!  Can't wait to share with you all!

We also have to get the office finished up...or at least functional...before Sunday, cause the small group is coming over, and I know at least one of them is going to want to see it!  {hi Amber!}

Oh, and look at this forecast...
46 on Sunday, and almost 60 by mid-week.  Holy cow!  How is that even possible!?  Whatever, I'll take it!

What's on your agenda for the weekend?   What's the weather like were you are?

{Old Photos} A Fine Looking Family...

 I've always loved this picture of my grandparents with my dad as a baby.  Isn't it the sweetest?  Based on how old my dad is in the picture, I'd say it was taken in 1945.

Just wanted to share.

*****I do ask that you keep in mind that these are my family photos.  Please do not use them without my written permission.  Thank you.*****

Happy Birthday Dad!

This weekend was full of rain, rain, and more rain.  We did venture out of the house Saturday evening to celebrate my dad's 66th birthday!  We had hamburgers and hot dogs off the grill and all kinds of yummy fixings.  It was my first burger of the season, and man was it delicious! ;)

My dad is one of the most avid readers of this blog...Hi Dad!  {Warning:  I'm about to dote.}

He is one of the coolest guys around, and I'm not just saying that cause he's my dad.  Everyone who meets him instantly loves him.  He's just real.  He says it like it is, and lives according to what makes him happy while still somehow managing to do anything and everything he can to help the people he cares about.  Always willing to lend a hand. He's one of the greatest men I know.  I'm one lucky girl, and I'm so lucky to call him not only my father, but one of my best friends.

Love you Dad!  I hope you had a blast on your birthday!  ;)

How was your weekend?

I'm a Mac.

I am so excited folks!

Remember that broken ethernet port on my mac that I've mentioned before?  {here and here}  You know, the one that made me forsake my sweet mac for my Dad's pc just so I could get internet access?  {Thanks again Dad! I'm sorry we kidnapped your extra laptop for so long!  we really, really appreciate your generosity!} well,  i fixed it, I Fixed It, I FIXED IT!!!!  Thanks to some helpful shopping by the wonderful husband, I had a new port waiting for me when I got home.  A screw, some gentle nudging and a whole lot of dust later, this is what I saw....

Eureka!!  I have to say that while partaking in my wonderful father's generous loan over the last few months {ahem, way too long!} I did learn not to hate pc's quite as much.  That being said, I am so happy to have my mac back!  I've missed you little buddy!  Everything is prettier on your screen!  :)  I'm definitely still a mac!

slacker...

I know, I know, I've been a total slacker...I'll try and make it up to you.

I have so much to share with you all!   Week before last I went on the road trip with my dad and sister, and we had a marvelous time!  I wasn't able to update you along the way like I had planned, so I have lots and lots of pictures from the trip to share with you over the next couple weeks...among other things.

Let's just take it slow, okay?  That way it doesn't seem like such a daunting task to catch back up. I'll just share a snippet at a time, until I run out of material, or you beg me to stop.  {I'd hate to be that person that makes you look at their vacation photos to the point that you want to gouge out your own eyeballs just to make it stop.}

happy father's day...

he is one of my best friends and favorite people.
he's always there to lend a hand or give some encouragement or advice.
he's the kind of guy that will do anything for the people he loves.
he's the retired guy that mows the lawns and plows the driveways of 4 or 5 of his neighbors just because he likes to help them out.  yeah, he's that guy.  everyone loves him.
he can almost always fix cars, sometimes just for fun.
he's always up for going out to eat.
he can build or fix just about anything.
he loves a good story and tells the best ones.
my dad is the best dad i could possibly ask for.  he's been there for me through thick and thin, always with a smile and a wink.  i love him the whole world's sky.

happy father's day, Dad!  I love you!

oh, and the picture was taken at the lake a couple of years ago.  he let me style his hair in a faux-hawk.  isn't he the cutest!?
