Household tips from around the web...

This might just change my life.  A tutorial on how to roll plastic bags so they dispense like wipes!  Yes, please!  {Although we try to use reusable bags every chance we get, we still end up with a gazzilion plastic bags in the bottom of our pantry.  This could change that!}

Speaking of life changing...I have always wanted to know how to fold a fitted sheet, and this lady makes it look easy!

 Don't even pretend that you aren't super excited to wash your sheets now!

Has anyone tried this? Apparently if you rest a wooden spoon on the top of a pot, it won't boil over.  I would love it it this actually worked:

I hate scrubbing the shower. I usually just use a sponge and some dish soap, which works pretty well, but this looks like an excellent way to re-use some dryer sheets. A few drops of water on a used dryer sheet and it will remove soap scum from your shower doors.  {Or so they claim.}

Okay, so lay it on me.

Have you tried any of these household tips and tricks? Have any good ones of your own?

The only one of my own I can think of right now is pantyhose as deodorant remover. You know when you put your deodorant on and it somehow gets all over the underside of your arms along the sides of your shirt? {Usually on dark fabrics.} If you rub pantyhose on it, it will come right off. No joke. I keep a knee high in my drawer with my deodorant for this very purpose.

How to set up your profile to receive replys to your comments via email....

I fear this might be kind of basic.  Although, I wasn't aware of it until a couple of weeks ago, and considering the number of comments I get without a way to respond by email, I'm guessing I wasn't the only one in the dark.

Did you know you can set up your profile to allow for email reply's to your comments?  It's super easy, and makes commenting so much more fun!  I've been amazed at how many sweet responses I've gotten from bloggers since updating this feature in my own profile.  Responses I probably wasn't getting before because they didn't have a way to contact me directly without going on a hunt.

From your Dashboard, go to "Edit Profile".  You'll want to make sure "Show my email address" is checked and that you've filled in the "Email Address" field under Identity.



It's that easy!  If you have any questions at all, just ask. 


Tell me, am I the only one who didn't know about this?  Do you have your profile set up so you can receive replys?

Credit Where Credit is Due...

I just discovered something glorious, and thought I'd share!

I'm always pulling images from various blogs and websites of things that inspire me, or that I'd love to own, but am not ready to buy right now.  The problem is, when I get around to posting about them, or decide I'd like to make a purchase {or even just look around to see what's new} I can't ever remember where the image is from!  {Now, I also have an ongoing list of links to things I love, but that's another story.}


This morning it dawned on me that I could make a note in the info pane of the image with the link to where I found it!  I'm not sure how this would be done on a pc, but surely you could....well, I would hope.  You know I'm a little biased toward Macs!

I'll use this image of this fabulous screen turned headboard found on Lake Jane this morning as an example.  {originally from Canadian House and Home}

All you have to do is Control click the image from your desktop {or the folder that you've neatly placed it in, unlike me}

Then click "Get Info"

At the very top of this window, there's a field labeled "Spotlight Comments"

Just copy paste your link in there, and whala!  You'll always have the link to that image!

This field is actually intended for you to make notes for easy searching via spotlight, but I think it works just as well this way!

I am going to make this my new procedure when pulling things from the web.  Now, I'll always be able to give credit to the lovely bloggers, designers and artists that deserve it!
