Weekend Again...

Hey lovelies!  I'm juggling lots of work again, but wanted to pop in and wish you a Happy Friday!  Can you believe it's the weekend again already!?  Hooray!

I'm looking forward to some down time, a possible trip to the farmer's market, a wedding reception, a birthday party for yours truly with some friends and family and hopefully some time spent with my darling hubby.....and maybe a bike ride or two!

What do you have going on?

Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy every second!

See you next week!

Friday at last...

{photo of the sky on my walk in to work this morning}

It's a beautiful morning here in Kansas.  The cool morning air will soon turn sweltering.  {we're supposed to get up to 92 today....ick}

I think it's about time to break out the coconut lime verbena.  {speaking of which, the sale is going on.  Anyone know when it ends?  I need to make it there!}

Happy Friday!  I hope you have a great weekend!  My plans include snuggling with my kitty, painting 4 {maybe 5} piggy banks, and relaxing. This may or may not include a couple glasses of Boones Farm.  Hey, don't judge...it's cheap, and delicious.   {I actually had never tried it til last weekend, but I can't say I hated it.}
Whatever you do, enjoy every second!

Friday to-do...

Hooray!  It's Friday!

This week has been sort of medium, I'd say, on the long side.  Not excruciating at all, but I'm still so happy that the weekend is here!  I think the rain has finally stopped and sunny skies are expected all the way through until next Saturday!  Good thing, cause I don't think I could take much more of the gloomy skies and wetness.  {I'm not entirely sure I'm ready for the heat and humidity that's coming either, but I'll take it!}

This weekend's activities include:
  • Boot Camp.  {I'm supposed to start tomorrow morning with my neighbor friend, but we haven't booked the class yet.  I'm waiting to make sure she gets booked before I book.  Don't want to get stuck going by myself!  And, yes, I'm a little scared of what this whole "boot camp" will entail.} not goting to work out this weekend after all.  Maybe after memorial day weekend?  ;)
  • A trip to the historic City Market in downtown KC with my mom.  {We're looking forward to browsing over 140 vendor stalls and seeing what kind of goodness we can find!  I haven't been since I was a kid, so I'm really looking forward to this!}
  • Chores.  {I'm a little behind on my list, but as long as I don't get alot behind, it will even itself out!}
  • Transferring my herb seedlings to real pots!  {I cannot wait to have fresh herbs to cook with!  They are doing so well!}
  • Watching hours and hours of Lost.  {6 1/2 to be exact.  The pilot on Saturday night, the two hour recap on Sunday, and the 2 1/2 hour finale after that!  Holy cow!  I just hope I can stay awake for it all.  If not, there's no way I can go to work on Monday without it being ruined for me!  I might have to bust out some coffee to keep me up til 10:30 on a Sunday night.}  Anyone else as excited as I am?
Looks like I'm in for a packed weekend!

How about you?  What's on your to-do?

Typing to-do's...

In case you haven't noticed, I've sort of adopted typewriters as my image of choice for my friday to-do posts.  For some reason, I associate them with list making.  That doesn't really make sense, but I don't care.

I wish computers made the same melodic sound when we typed on them.  Although, that would probably get pretty annoying at the office.  I remember taking "typing" in 8th grade.  While they weren't quite as old as the one above, we learned on actual typewriters.  The teacher would put a record on {which was outdated even then} with songs like "Mr. Football USA" and we would all type to the beat.  It was ridiculous and cheesy, and so much fun!

I met one of my dearest friends to this day in that class.  Good times.

So, what's on the agenda for this weekend?
  • Run!  I'm starting a boot camp class next week, and don't want to completely die in front of my friends!
  • Get a present for my dad...tomorrow is his birthday!  {any suggestions on what to get a guy who has everything?  He's not a golfer, hunter, or fisherman and has ever tool known to man.}
  • Celebrate Dad's birthday at a barbeque with friends/family.
  • Relax.
This weekend should be pretty low key and I couldn't be happier!  Bring on the weekend!

What's on your agenda?

Friday to-do...

Holy cow, it's Friday!  This week has seemed impossibly long and short all at the same time.  All I know is that I'm ready for the weekend, and thanks to my cleaning schedule from last weekend , my house is still clean this week!  hooray!  That means I don't have to put "clean the house" on my list this week!  {just the chores for tomorrow} You have no idea how happy this makes me!  This really is the way to go, folks.  A little every day!

Would you like me to do a post about the schedule I'm following?
{not that I'm an expert homemaker my any means, but it's certainly working for me!}

This weekend I would like to:
  • take a present to my mama {I'll share that with you next week too!}
  • organize the office {I started this last night, but I'm just taking my time so my head doesn't explode}
  • clean the bathrooms and do laundry {my only weekend chores}
  • do one thing from my "fun" list  {this is the list of fun projects that I never get to do cause I'm cleaning!}
  • buy some new running shoes
  • run
I think that's it!  Should be nice and relaxing!

What do you have planned?

Whatever it is, I hope it's fabulous!

Friday to-do...

It's been a long week getting back in the groove after vacation, so I'm looking forward to a nice weekend!  We don't have much on the agenda, so there should be plenty of time for productivity and relaxation, always a good combination!
this weekend i hope to:
  • deep clean the upstairs {I did the downstairs last weekend}
  • make a cleaning schedule to keep up with everything going forward
  • barbeque with our good neighbor friends
  • decide when to begin boot camp classes with said neighbor
  • meal plan for next week, and include lots of veggies!
  • get in at least one run
  • get some more pictures ready to share with you all!
I think that's it!  Should be a nice and simple weekend!  It's rainy today, but looks like Saturday and Sunday will be sunny and in the upper 60's....perfect!

What's on your list for this weekend?

Whatever it is, I hope is relaxing and filled with people you love!  Happy Friday everyone!

beach dreams...

Happy Friday everyone!
Hope your weekend has the promise of some excitement and some relaxation!  I'm confident that mine does.  I'll have some travel posts coming up next week!
Doesn't the photo above make you yearn for the beach?  It does me.  I haven't seen a beach in 3 years!

When's the last time you layed eyes on the ocean?  Do you live close enough to the beach to visit easily?

I'm also super excited because our local farmer's market starts back up this weekend!  Yay!  Fresh salsa, here I come!

Friday at last...

Wow, this week has been a crazy one!  After a whole lot of stress, a spat with my husband and some heart palpitations last night, I came to terms with the fact that I just might have to let some things go from my never ending to-do list.  Not that they'll never get done, just that it just might not be in the timeframe I was hoping.  On that note, I'm not even going to post a list this week, because quite frankly, my head might explode.  Let's just say I have lots and lots to do.  Some things are tedious, some things are so exciting I can't hardly stand it!

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend, and I'll see you next week!

Spring indeed....for now!

by ethermoon via flickr

Hooray!  It's Friday!  I hope you all are as excited for the weekend as I am.  It is a beeeeeeautiful spring day here in Kansas City.  We're talking a high of 61 with sunny skies!
{I'm choosing not to think about tomorrow's forecast:  36 degrees and 3-6 inches of snow.  boo!
That's Kansas for you.  As we always say, if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes, it'll change!}
Today, it is spring indeed!

This weekends plans include:

  • attending a baby shower for one of the sweetest people I know.
  • making final plans for our road trip!
  • cleaning the house.  {I know this is on the list every weekend, but never has it been so necessary as this week.  The mess is driving. me. mad.}
  • preparing something exciting for the blog next week!  {stay tuned}
  • march madness!!  it's the best time of year!
what's on your list for this weekend?
whatever it is, I hope it's glorious!

Poor little Sophie kitty....

Much to my horror, yesterday we discovered an abscess on Sophie's side.  It appears that she has been bitten and that it has become infected.  I'm quite certain that this is Chloe's doing. {You can check out the little suspect in the left sidebar if you're so inclined.}  Chloe loves to torment Sophie, and up until now, my attitude has been to just let them work it out.  However, this is not going to fly.  Poor Sophie has been sent to the vet {my stepfather} to have her wounds cleaned and attended to.  She will be on antibiotics to clear up the infection, and will probably have at least one shaved spot on her fur.  I'm hoping they don't find more bites.  I feel like a horrible mama.  I'm just so glad we discovered it when we did.  This little fur ball has really stolen a piece of my heart lately.

In other news, I sold three chalkboards in the last two days on etsy!  Hooray!

This weekend, I have an out of control to-do list.  From what I can remember it goes something like this:

  • gather info for the accountant to finish up our taxes
  • balance the checkbook
  • fix break lights on my car
  • list items on etsy
  • make chalkboards
I know there is more.  I made a list last night, but it's at home on the kitchen counter....

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!  What are your plans?

TGIF...

I've had the term TGIF running through my head all morning.  It's been a pretty fast week actually, but I still couldn't be happier that it's Friday.  Yesterday, i kept thinking it was Wednesday...that never happens!

So, anyway, I keep thinking TGIF, which got me thinking about Full House and Family Matters.  I remember being so excited every friday as a kid to watch tv, especially once I got a tv in my room.  It was extra exiting when i'd get to have a friend spend the night and we could watch together!  I definitely remember more about Full House, but I loved them both.  We thought D.J. was so super cool, that Michelle was the cutest kid ever and that Uncle Jesse was so dreamy!   About the only thing I remember about Family Matters is how hilarious we thought Earkle was!

Did you watch TGIF?  If so, what do you remember?
Full House  found here .

Family Matters  found here .

What are your plans for this weekend?

I am helping my mom with a website tomorrow morning, and then Jon and I are headed to the Home Show with my dad and his girlfriend.  I hope to also get in some cleaning and some relaxing too!

Happy Friday, hope your weekend is lovely!

Relief for my head...

I have a dozen things running through my head right now that need to be done.  My problem is, if I don't get them in list form, I have a hard time actually doing any of them.  So, in order to be able to accomplish something I am going to do my friday to-do on saturday.  Here goes:

1. Clean house.  {this will aid in accomplishing the rest of the list}
2. Work on collage. {this is a project that my hubby and I have been working on as a memorial to a dear man who lost his life last summer}
3. Finish a school spirit sockey cat.  {holla, this one's an order!}
4. Write up a bid for a freelance project I'm trying to land.
5. Figure out what to take to the Super Bowl partaaaay tomorrow!
6. Grocery shopping.
7. Install my new programs on my computer!  {I've been waiting for this for so long!}

That's all I can think of right now.  I feel better already!  I can't wait to mark stuff off the list!   {yes, I'm a dork like that.}

What are you doing this weekend?  Are you a list maker?

I'm lovin' it...

image from here .

My friend brought me a vanilla iced coffee from McDonald's this morning.  I think they must put crack in these things.  Seriously, I get so excited every time.  Right now, I've almost finished it off and I feel all hyped up on caffeine and crazy.  Love it.  {I really haven't had any caffeine for over a week, so it's hitting me hard!} I love them so much and every time I have one I think, I must have this every morning....but that's just not a good idea.   Have you guys tried them?

Hahaha!  I think the above paragraph makes it pretty apparent how jittery I am.  The crash is going to suck big time.

But for real, if you like iced coffee and haven't tried McD's version....do it.

I'm not going to do my friday to-do this week because really, it's the same as last week and I'm bored with it.  Plus, that's kinda all I've blogged about for a while and let's face it, no one wants to read about that.

Happy Friday to you all!  Have a super fantastic fun weekend!

Ice lanterns and Friday to-do's:

I think these ice lanterns from Design Sponge are just lovely.  Our snow is melting away more and more everyday, but if {or when} it returns, I'd like to try to make one.

from here .

This weekends to-do's are short as I'm just not feeling all that much pressure this week:

1) Clean my car.  This is so I can continue on week 2 of carpool with my work friend who lives so close. Week 1 was a smashing success and next week it's my turn!
2) Work on a project that has been looming for what seems like forever!

Have a lovely weekend!

friday to-do's:

Last night I was feeling sort of down on myself.  I was having a bit of an identity crisis.  Am I living my life the best I can?  Doing the things I really want to do?  I'm still not quite sure what the answer is, but I'm feeling better this morning.  It's probably just that it's Friday...that always helps!

This weekend I would like to accomplish the following:

1.  List new items in the shop !
2.  Make chili...mmmm
3.  Snuggle up and stay warm.  {it's bitterly cold here in KC...today's high is 1 degree!  Yowzer!}
4.  Get in a workout or two.
5. Send an invoice to a special someone .

That's it!  Sounds totally doable, right!?

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  Stay warm, wherever you are!

I'm still here, and friday to-do's!

Hi all!
Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I'm still around! Since Thanksgiving it seems that time has flown by and I've forgotten to touch base on here! It has been a whirlwind of decorating, shopping, etsy and show sales, dinner with friends and family.....and it's about to get crazier! I feel like one of those scary little elves!
I promise not to leave you for so long again...I've missed you!

This weekend's to-do's:
1) Finish Christmas shopping! (almost there!)
2) Clean house
3) Bake Goodies!
4) Try to find the blown bulb on my lit garland & replace! (it went out as soon as I put it up...boo!)

I think that's it! Have a great weekend everyone, and hope you are all well! It feels good to be back!

;)

TGIF...

In many ways I cannot believe it is already Friday, and in many other ways I cannot believe how long this week has been!  I am soooooo ready for Thanksgiving weekend.  Four days off.  Good food and family.  Christmas decorations!  Can't wait!  However, I'll take a regular weekend to get ready.  TGIF!

This weeks to-do's include:
1. Baking sugar cookies for a care package.
2. Shipping said care package.
3. Wrangling all three cats to the vet to get their shots.  (Eek!  wish me luck!)
4. Make sure house is super clean so that Christmas decorating can begin on Friday!
5. Work on shop .
6. Make sure I have all ingredients for my pumpkin cakes!  I'll do a post on these this week...mmmmmm.
7. Make Christmas gift list. (for others)

I think I'll stop at that.  I've been feeling a tad overwhelmed lately, so I think I'll keep this weekend simple.

Happy Friday my loves!  Have a great weekend!

What a week & friday to-do...

image from here .  get your own print in any color you could want here .

This week has been absolutely insane.  Car troubles with two of our cars, church meeting drama, and yesterday I found out that my insurance at work is changing and that starting in January, I won't be able to visit any of my current doctors!  Eek!  Needless to say, this week has been stress city.  I haven't worked out once and haven't been the best wife I can be either.  I'm hoping to renew my spirit this weekend.

My to-do's:
1. Help fix the cars any way I can...
2. Clean the rest of the house that didn't get cleaned last week, and straighten the clean part.
3. Finalize our Christmas cards.
4. Get recommendations for new doctors.
5. Fix my dang internet connection on my computer!
6. List some items in the shop.
7. Love my husband and make him feel as special as he is.
8. Get in one workout.
9. Pre-make a meal for next week {this worked out splendidly this week!}
10. Figure out what we're doing for Thanksgiving.
11. Relax.  Take a deep breath.

I hope you all have a great Friday, and a lovely weekend!
